38th Aranyacala Nature Lovers Basic Education
Basic Education is the initial step in entering the world of nature lovers’ activities. In basic education, participants learn various materials related to land navigation, survival, travel health, travel management, knot tying, and basic leadership exercises. This activity is carried out for a full month, with field activities held once in the Telaga Warna area, precisely at the foot of Mount Lemo in Bogor.

During the field activities, the main focus is on land navigation material to determine our position using terrain orientation techniques and conducting resection using a compass and map. To locate specific points, the intersection method is used. Knowledge of terrain orientation is crucial for nature explorers, as it is the foundation to avoid getting lost easily during exploration.
Other materials include survival techniques, covering ways to survive in nature by creating shelters such as natural or makeshift bivouacs, finding food in nature like begonia plants, ferns, orchids, and more. The last topic is knot tying, which is used to support various activities and tasks in nature.

38th Basic Education is organized to recruit new members for Aranyacala. Unfortunately, due to the prolonged pandemic, participants in Basic Education 38 were only sworn in as junior members and must undergo a 4-month probation period to become full membership.
