Frame Relay Configuration
Frame Relay is a WAN protocol that operates at the first and second layers of the OSI model and can be implemented on several types of network interfaces. This protocol is a high-speed communication technology that has been used in thousands of networks worldwide to connect LANs, SNA, the Internet, and even voice applications.
Frame Relay is a method of transmitting information over a Wide Area Network (WAN) by dividing the information into frames or packets. Each frame has an address used by the network to determine its destination. The frames pass through switches in the Frame Relay network and are sent through a “virtual circuit” to their destination.
