International Women Day 2023
What is International Women’s Day (IWD)?
The definition of to dare is to have the courage to try something new; to defy or challenge norms; to be brave and willing to take risks.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of women’s achievements and progress toward gender equality. Women Techmakers Jakarta and Depok are proud to collaborate and join this global movement and celebrate IWD 2023 with our own event “Dare To Share”. This event will feature talks by successful women in technology, as well as conference and panel discussions.
International Women’s Day 2023: Dare To Share
On April 1, 2023, Women Tech Makers (WTM) Jakarta, Women Tech Makers (WTM) Depok, Women Tech Makers (WTM) Cloud Jakarta, Google Developer Group (GDG) Jakarta, Google Developer Group (GDG) Depok, and Google Developer Group (GDG) Cloud Jakarta organized an event to celebrate International Women’s Day. The event took place at Google Indonesia, SCBD, Pacific Century Place Tower, Jakarta. It featured two paths: Android & Web and Cloud & Machine Learning.

The event began with open registration at 12:00 PM. It was officially opened with a keynote by Google SEA Regional Lead Janise Tan and Google Community Manager for Indonesia & Brunei Danang Juffry at 1:00 PM.
In the Android & Web path, there were two tech talks about Android presented by Meytha Zennis, Software Engineer Lead - Android at Tokopedia, covering the topic “Get to Know Android Camera API,” and Cendekia Luthfieta. Additionally, there was a Women Inspired Talk featuring panelists Christa Lorenzia, VP at Alpha JWC Ventures, and Alka Gupta, Founder & Director of BukuWarung. The session concluded with a Q&A with Meytha Zennis, Cendekia Luthfieta, and the Women Inspired Talk panelists. After a break, the session continued with two tech talks on the Web, presented by Annisa Nuri N on “Exploring the Power of Google Maps Platform API for Website” and Eka Jayani A on “So You Want to Use Shiny New Web Platform Features?”. This session also ended with a Q&A with Annisa Nuri N and Eka Jayani A, followed by closing remarks and a networking session.
In the Cloud & Machine Learning path, there were two tech talks on Machine Learning presented by Mega Fransiska, AI Engineer at Datasaur.ai, on “Machine Learning for Everyone,” and by Viranita Julianti, QA Engineer at Brick, on “Get Started with Firebase Hosting.” There was also a Women Inspired Talk featuring panelists Christa Lorenzia and Alka Gupta. The session concluded with a Q&A with Mega Fransiska, Viranita Julianti, and the Women Inspired Talk panelists. After a break, the session continued with two tech talks on Cloud, presented by Devina Ekawati on “ML Model Deployment and Serving in GCP” and Wahyuni Puji on “Playing Blocks with Google Cloud: How Terraform Helps Build and Organize Digital Legos.” This session also ended with a Q&A with Devina Ekawati and Wahyuni Puji, followed by closing remarks and a networking session.
The International Women’s Day 2023 event organized by Women Tech Makers (WTM) Jakarta, WTM Depok & WTM Cloud Jakarta, along with Google Developer Groups (GDG) Jakarta, GDG Depok, and GDG Cloud Jakarta, aimed to bridge women in disseminating information and developing tech skills. This event is expected to raise awareness and empower women in technology, enabling them to contribute to creating welfare and progress in society.
