Mount Gede X Informatics Engineering Student Association
On this trip, the author scheduled an event for the Informatics Engineering Student Association of Trisakti University to hike together with fellow members. This journey involved climbing Mount Gede, located in Gede Pangrango National Park. The aim was to strengthen relationships and collaboration between the 2019 and 2020 batches of the association.
The trek was taken via the Putri route, which is quite steep and requires extra effort. The journey to Surya Kencana took 12 hours, following the pace of the author’s friends. We arrived at Surya Kencana around 7:00 PM and immediately set up our tents.

Throughout the Surya Kencana valley, many Java Edelweiss flowers grow naturally. Some locals sell these flowers at the base, but the ones sold by the locals are cultivated varieties.

The next day, we headed to the summit at 7:00 AM and reached it by 9:00 AM. At the top, we raised the Informatics Engineering Association flag and took group photos as a keepsake of our trip as part of the student association’s activities.

That afternoon, we packed up and began our descent back down the mountain via the Putri route. We arrived at the bottom around 4:00 PM, took a short break, and by 12:00 PM, we hurried home.
We come from nature, our lives depend on nature, and we will return to nature. Save nature, save life, save the future.
